A Barley Field Prayer from the NIV God’s Word for Gardeners Bible,
inspired by the troops who stood firm in a barley field.
At a place where there was a field full of barley, the troops fled from the Philistines. 14 But they took their stand in the middle of the field. They defended it and struck the Philistines down, and the Lord brought about a great victory.
– 1 Chronicles 11:13-14 NIV
How blessed we are, dear Father, that you plant your testimony in our
plants. You use the plant kingdom to signal the workings of your kingdom (Luke
12:27 – 32). You strengthen, you deliver, you provide — you win! We have victory
in you, our God (1 Corinthians 15:57 – 58). Help me turn to you and stand firm,
humble before you, mighty in your strength.
May you go in God’s grace today as you face your battles.
