I am delighted to share good news of my next book project with BRIT Press, the publishing department of the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT). We are collaborating on an illustrated, four-book series of God’s Word for Gardeners devotions. The first book of the series will be released in summer 2022 (Lord willing!), titled My Father is the Gardener.
BRIT is an international scientific research and learning center in Fort Worth, Texas, conducting scholarly research to discover, understand, and conserve plants and all life. New this year, BRIT now oversees and administers the grounds of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, amplifying the love of plants and gardening in the heart of the city’s cultural district.
He spoke about plant life, from the cedar of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of the walls. 1 Kings 4:33 NIV
We will be using specimen images and botanical artwork from BRIT’s herbarium and library collections to illustrate and display graphically God’s gardening metaphor and wisdom. The series will showcase the institution’s vast holdings along with original drawings by a local artist, offering a fresh, rich layering of Biblical insight in beautifully crafted books.
Your Contribution
We have raised much of the funding necessary to make publishing possible, covering the cost of photography, new artwork, book design, editing, and printing for the first book of the series, My Father is the Gardener. Thank you to our many donors! Additional funding will allow us to increase our print run, market to the broader gardening audience, and offer more complimentary books to botanical and horticultural institutions. Thank you for considering a contribution to help us get the Word out! Every gift is precious towards this goal. 40% of book sales proceeds will benefit BRIT.
