Garden in Delight was formed out of God’s Word for Gardeners Bible and its uncanny way of moving readers to garden and table—growing, smelling, seeing and tasting God’s goodness for themselves. Our brand grew out of curiosity and sheer delight to celebrate the let’s-give-this-a-try whim of planting God’s Word in a tangible way. We hope you find our information and products a joyful complement to your daily practice of keeping, tending and cooking from your garden. Any size garden, that is, from window sill pots to acres of flowers and produce.
The mustard flower represents our simple prayer: May you get to know God in the garden, live in his presence, believe in his possibilities, and delight in his Word.
Garden in Delight is a member of the National Garden Bureau.
Shelley S. Cramm
Author & Gardener
Shelley S. Cramm loves to see the ancient words of Scripture come alive in today’s gardens. She is the author of devotions for God’s Word for Gardeners Bible, writes the blog at www.gardenindelight.com, and speaks enthusiastically about the connection of garden to table to life.
Her background includes work in architectural and garden design, and leadership in local Bible study, prayer groups, Toastmasters International, and GWA: The Association for Garden Communicators.
Inspiration to write a gardener’s Bible grew out of a routine of morning journaling and an enduring hope to finish up the laundry and get out to the garden. Shelley and her husband Topher have five children and live in Irving, Texas. Read More
Researcher & Gardener
Kim Hagan was lead researcher and first to give feedback to the original manuscript of NIV God’s Word for Gardeners Bible. In essence, Shelley was given this garden-delight view of Scripture and Kim was with her every step of the way, helping to form and shape the work in progress. Kim has been active in women’s ministry for over 15 years, serving as a small group leader in Bible study, the Moms in Touch prayer ministry for her local schools and a Prayer Intercessor for the Regional Moms in Touch organization. She worked as a Real Estate Relocation Specialist, a small business owner, and an educational assistant for several years until raising her family.
Her love of gardening began as a toddler while she worked side by side on her knees with her grandmother. Turning the soil and talking with each other naturally progressed into spending time with God in the garden. Kim has two children, and the Hagan family makes their home in Dallas, Texas.
