Blessings and happiness to you in the new year before us, a year full of promise and possibility. Imagine the new things before us!
Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV
The Garden in Delight blog closes for the month of January – join me in cleaning out closets and preparing taxes. Sounds dreary, I know! Yet let us take a month to get matters in order; we’re mostly indoors anyway. Soon enough the sweet airs of spring will brush our faces with gentle warming, beckoning us outside, and we will be free to garden again!
I am making everything new! Revelation 21:5 NIV
Praise our God who moves forward and teaches us to look to the future with hope and excitement. It is His Way that through snow and storms comes a season of flowers and singing.
See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come
Song of Songs 2:11-12 NIV

Happy New Year, Shelley! Thanks for the garden inspiration through the bible! I have numerous gardens through out my property and always feel I am close to the Lord when I garden. I have a garden sign that says “one is nearer to God in the garden then anywhere else on earth”..maybe because most of the time we are on our knees? I love this verse you included above from song of songs…soon, we will be singing in our gardens once again! Right now, we are in a cold arctic blast with some snow…brrr…My journal this year is one of “praise” and I am looking for something in my garden everyday to praise God for…even in these cold winter months, there is something to be found…I am also cleaning out closets…hmm..not working on those taxes, yet! Have a blessed New Year and enjoy your winter gardens!
