Plant Guide

Connect to the plants from the Bible featured in Shelley's books & blog in the Plant Guide. Adding a few plants from the Scriptures to your garden transforms your treasured outdoor space into a God-journal. Soon budding green leaves and blooming flowers will seem to fill your mind and soul with testimonies and reminders of God’s ways. The natural next step brings garden to table—flowers and foliage for a vase or garden-fresh ingredients for a salad—tasting and seeing God’s goodness, as the psalmist implored. Your garden will take on a whole new delight!

Taste and See that the Lord is good.

Psalm 34:8 NIV

Plants to See:

Find ornamental trees, shrubs, and flowers from the Bible under the "Plants to See" section of the Plant Guide - species to frame a view, add fragrance and color, provide shelter, or compose a lush background for your garden or landscape. Need a new conifer? Look in Isaiah's Evergreens. Ready to plant bulbs? Choose some Flowers of the Field. Find more in Ornamental Trees and Perennials & Shrubs to fill out your garden with whimsy from God's Word.

Plants to taste:

Find edibles - the herbs, spices, produce, and fruit trees in "Plants to Taste." You are sure to find something fun to grow in this section of the Plant Guide to feed both hungers - physical and spiritual. Many Biblical holiday foods are easy to grow at home! Let all your salads showcase Bitter Herbs, and find many more vegetables to grow in Edible Annuals. The 7 Species will grace your garden with ancient grains and sweet fruits from Deuteronomy 8:8. Connect to many Bible stories through the Herbs & Spices mentioned in them.
